Understanding Benchmarks
Benchmarks are reference points that help you understand how gaming experiences typically perform over time. They allow you to compare your experience against industry standards to see whether it is performing above, below, or at the expected level.
How Benchmarks Are Calculated
To ensure consistency, we track performance across a standardised timeline:
-
Weekly Tracking: We analyze data week by week from launch up to 12 weeks post-release.
-
Key Metrics Calculation:
-
Active Users: We calculate the average number of daily active users per week.
-
Visits, Likes, Dislikes, and Favorites: We use the highest value recorded in each week.
-
-
Creating the Benchmark: We collect data from all relevant experiences and determine the median value for each metric. This forms a benchmark curve that represents typical performance trends.
To provide meaningful benchmarks, we apply the following criteria:
-
A minimum of 5 experiences must match the selected criteria to generate a benchmark.
-
Only experiences with available engagement data are included.
-
Experiences must match the selected platform, brand type, and industry filters.
